This early work by Henry James was originally published in 1886 and we are now republishing it with a brand new introductory biography. Henry James was born in New York City in 1843. One of thirteen children, James had an unorthodox early education, switching between schools, private tutors and private reading.. James published his first story, A Tragedy of Error, in the Continental Monthly in 1864, when he was twenty years old. In 1876, he emigrated to London, where he remained for the vast majority of the rest of his life, becoming a British citizen in 1915. From this point on, he was a hugely prolific author, eventually producing twenty novels and more than a hundred short stories and novellas, as well as literary criticism, plays and travelogues. Amongst James's most famous works are The Europeans (1878), Daisy Miller (1878), Washington Square (1880), The Bostonians (1886), and one of the most famous ghost stories of all time, The Turn of the Screw (1898). We are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork. gage - Weblio gage () ( Henry James (1843-1916) - Literary Criticism Online Henry James (1843-1916) A selective list of online literary criticism for the American-born London-based novelist short-story writer literary critic and The Bostonians - Wikipedia The Bostonians is a novel by Henry James first published as a serial in The Century Magazine in 18851886 and then as a book in 1886 This bittersweet tragicomedy The Ivory Tower - Wikipedia The Ivory Tower is an unfinished novel by Henry James posthumously published in 1917 The novel is a brooding story of Gilded Age America It centers on the riches Henry James Wikipedia wolna encyklopedia Henry James (ur 15 kwietnia 1843 w Nowym Jorku zm 28 lutego 1916) amerykasko-brytyjski pisarz krytyk i teoretyk literatury Henry James urodzi si jako Henry James Biography - Childhood Life Achievements Henry James was an American writer regarded as one of the key figures of 19th-century literary realism This biography of Henry James provides detailed information Henry James American writer Britannicacom Henry James (born April 15 1843 New York New York USdied February 28 1916 London England) American novelist and as a naturalized English citizen from : Henry James: : 15 1843 : - - Henry James - Biography and Works Search Texts Read The Princess Casamassima The novel tells of a clever young London bookbinder Hyacinth Robinson whose young mother had long ago murdered his father Lord Frederick Henry James - Wikipedia Roderick Hudson ; The American ; Daisy Miller ; The Europeans ; The Portrait of a Lady ; Washington Square ; A Little Tour in France ; The Bostonians ; The Princess
